CURRENT CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Introduction
The team at Brightstone Books is creating an immersive experience for their flagship mythopoeic dark fantasy series, Mystic. Beginning with traditional print books, the project extends to a soundscape audiobook with a full voice cast, original soundtrack, and atmospheric sound effects. Additionally, weekly 5-minute visual episodes of the soundscape audiobook will be released on YouTube, using concept art from notable fantasy artists to bring an added layer of immersion. At the same time, the interactive ebook app will provide a more hands-on approach, with embedded links within the story to additional lore, maps, and character backgrounds, all to envelop the reader more fully into the world. Beyond these core projects, Brightstone Books also has plans for a documentary-style lore video series, interactive role-playing experiences, and more.

The High Scholar of House Brightstone
The High Scholar wisely manages both YouTube and Patreon, using their wealth of knowledge of content strategy to increase community engagement and platform growth. This, of course, all while lending their expertise as a revered Atha historian of lore. Moreover, the High Scholar educates the masses as the storyboard scriptwriter for our lore video documentary series. This position encompasses three roles: Creative, Analytical and Business.

1) Creative Role: Lore-Series Documentary Storyboard and Scriptwriter, Lore Expansion Writer (Historical Focused)

As High Scholar, you’ll enlighten those around you on the intricate details of historical lore. You’ll have greater insight into legends and myths, and significant events that shaped Atha into the world it is today. Due to your eye for history and attention to detail, you’re able to expand lore into more detailed stories to be published for the masses to enjoy. Additionally, you’ll be of great import as you provide storyboard and scriptwriting for the lore video series.

Compensation: $30/hr

2) Business Role: YouTube/Patreon Manager & Strategic Negotiations Executive

YouTube Channel & Patreon Manager
As High Scholar, you take pride in managing and optimizing our Patreon and YouTube presence. This includes wisely maintaining posting schedules, coordinating with the team to deliver content, and using features like polls, livestreams, and memberships to strengthen community engagement. You’ll create and refine membership tiers, write clear and engaging titles and descriptions, and oversee content delivery across both platforms. Monitoring analytics, retention, and performance trends will guide your strategy, while staying responsive to community feedback ensures the experience remains rewarding for viewers and supporters alike.

Strategic Negotiations Executive
As High Scholar, you’ll negotiate rates and terms with influencers, partners, and investors. You discern wisely, using the right angle to present mutually beneficial value.

  • Research and identify influencers, platforms, and partners whose audiences align with our genre, themes, or project goals

  • Evaluate leverage prior to outreach by reviewing follower counts, engagement rates, content style, and timing

  • Initiate contact with tailored messaging, track correspondence, and schedule follow-ups where needed

  • Lead conversations around terms, usage rights, deliverables, and rates while protecting budget and brand integrity

  • Maintain records of outreach, agreements, performance benchmarks, and renewal timelines

  • Represent Brightstone clearly and confidently in meetings or calls, explaining our offerings without overselling. NO hard-sales approach.

  • Suggest contract edits or term changes based on what’s worked—or hasn’t—in previous deals

Estimated Monthly Earnings
We are confident that, if the role is carried out as outlined, 25 hours per month across these responsibilities should reasonably yield $750–$1,000 total for the business role portion of the High Scholar position with growth potential. For a detailed compensation breakdown, please contact us.

3) Analytical Role: Beta Reading and Lore Historian (Documentary Focus)

As High Scholar, you’ll provide your invaluable insight on the manuscript not just as a beta reader but a specialized beta reader. As a lore historian, you’ll scour the pages for details that could open into larger stories. You’ll query the larger motivations and meanings behind the myths and characters so you can paint a full picture of the historical significance of events and legends that shaped cultures, behaviors, and even sayings. As High Scholar, you’re a revered learner, a master of the history of Atha, and you are passionate about the people who have shaped it. As you study the world of Atha, your scholastic rigor will allow you to detail lore extensively so it can become part of both our public library and our documentary series.
